Hi, I’m Juan!

I’m a UX/UI designer with a strong sense of aesthetic, space, and design, values shaped by growing up in Marin County, just north of the Golden Gate Bridge. That environment gave me appreciation for balance and clarity, which continues to influence my work today.

I lived in San Francisco during the height of its tech-forward growth, where I honed my product thinking and learned to design with purpose and agility.

Now based in New York City, I bring those experiences into a fast-paced, brand-driven environment, where thoughtful design needs to move quickly and make an impact. My approach blends West Coast clarity with East Coast energy, resulting in user experiences that are both intuitive and intentional.

I’m a thinker, creator, communicator who’s passionate about making things that connect with people.

I am also intrigued by human behavior and love diving deep into why people do what they do. Currently, I’m designing for Old Navy, where I help shape experiences rooted in human needs. And, when I’m not in front of the screen, you’ll find me running laps in Central Park, training for my next race.

Because my interests lean more to the mental, I balance them out by staying active and grounded in my body.

I am a curious person who thrives on stepping outside my comfort zone. I challenge myself to push boundaries and see how much of my own overthinking I can override by simply showing up and doing the work. That’s why my go-to mantra is: ‘Done is better than perfect.’

I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design from California State University - East Bay. I earned a UX/UI Design Certificate from CareerFoundry based in Berlin. And, I also completed masterclasses in Creative Leadership and Design Thinking through the Royal College of Art in London, where I had the opportunity to collaborate with creative leaders from all over the world.

This feels like the most exciting chapter yet, as I look ahead to the next adventure in my career. My goal is simple: to keep becoming a better designer. At the same time, I’m focused on continuing to grow and evolve as a creator, designer, and communicator.
